Seizing the Promises of God

"And from the days of John the Baptist until now the Kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force." - Matthew 11:12
There will never be a Goliath without a David and there will never be a David without a Goliath. God's promises for your life are true and will come to pass so long as you are obedient, but one thing you can be sure of is there will be giants in the land waiting to oppose you. You will have to fight for your promised land, but God wants you to know they are small in His eyes.
But Satan's job is to make you think that these problems and obstacles before you are impossible situations, that the giants in the land are too big to overcome. His job is to wear you down to the point where you quit right before you step into the promises of God.
And this is exactly where many of God's people are at right now. They are literally at a tipping point of crossing over, but they are at a point of such exhaustion and weariness that many are ready to throw in the towel and quit, surrendering to the voice that is taunting them and telling them nothing will ever change, that they are doomed to wander around in the wilderness and that they will die in this barren place.
Satan knows his time is short and so he is attacking God's people like never before, hitting them with illnesses, marital and family strife, financial lack and hardships and other forms of opposition.
But, if we maintain our focus on the task ahead instead of the problems we will be able to overcome and defeat the giants in the land and walk into our Promised Land. Whenever one is in a barren place and trying to take territory from the enemy and the attacks keep coming, there is a temptation to feel as if God has abandoned you, but I am here to tell you that is a lie. God is for you. He is not against you and if you look for Him you will see that He is speaking to you and encouraging you in your every day experiences to let you know His word is true and will come to pass.
Just this week I had an experience in which He reminded me of this. Last week I had shared a prophetic word on my blog (The Days are Numbered - Heed the Word of the Lord) that God had given me back in 2009 in which the Lord told me He was raising up Davids. These would be the mighty men that God is raising up in this last generation to take down the giants in the land.
Well, earlier this week I got out of my car and to my shock my bumper was loose. I couldn't figure out how this had happened since I hadn't hit anything and there were no scratches to indicate anyone else had hit it. It was even more bothersome because I had just purchased the car about a month ago and it was used so there would be no warranty on it. However, it was only a couple of years old so I certainly shouldn't be having a problem with the bumper coming loose.
I was perplexed how this had happened and frustrated as my mind began to contemplate the amount of money I would have to pay for this unexpected expense that would only add to a number of other financial situations that were coming my way.
After venting my frustrations to a friend of mine I got up the next morning to call a body shop and find out what it was going to cost me to get it repaired. Having had to get body work done before on a car I anticipated it being no less than a few hundred dollars. However, right before making the call I felt the Holy Spirit telling me to chill out that this was all part of the process and He was using this situation to speak to me.
So, I brought my car in to have them take a look at it. While I was waiting I picked up one of the business cards on the desk. Immediately I noticed the name of the shop, Little Giant Body and Paint and the owner's name was Dave D'Amico. I couldn't help but see the parallels between the name of his shop and his name.
I decided to look up the owner's name because I felt there was a message in there. Dave, which is short for David means beloved and D'Amico means friend. I felt like the Lord was telling me, I consider you my beloved friend and the giants you see in the land are small in my eyes and indeed I am raising up Davids to slay the giants.
Then to my surprise and relief the owner came out of the shop about 10 minutes later to tell me it was a screw that came loose. He pushed the bumper back in place and put in a new screw. "No charge," he said. I thanked him graciously and he mentioned that he does his best to be kind and treat people fairly and by doing that he said, "It always comes back to us in business and referrals."
In my frustration of another "problem" popping up that day I had anticipated the worst case scenario, but not only did the owner not charge me for his services, but I got reassurance from my Father that indeed He is raising up a great and warring army of Davids who will take down the giants in our land. It was also a reminder to me that kindness and doing the right thing is always reciprocated to us.
Then to confirm this word even further I read an article that day on Elijah List titled, "Get Ready for a New Generation of Mighty Men" by Andrew Whalen in which he said:
"I believe a division of 'special forces' wearing the garments of David's mighty men are coming to help advance the Kingdom of God into realms and mountains that the Church has not effectively reached or taken before."

Trust the process my friends. Don't give up, stay focused, stay thankful and believe. God is for you and He considers you His beloved friend. You are getting ready to slay the giants and walk into your Promised Land. The giants are small in His eyes.
